The Prayer of A Champion

The ten Lepers

As Jesus entered a village between Samaria and Galilee, he came across ten men afflicted with leprosy. They must have known of his reputation because they had enough faith to ask for healing. He granted their request and told them to go to the priest so that he could grant them a clean bill of health. As they were on their way to the priest, the healing became evident and they were all amazed. One of them ran back, worshiping God with a loud voice, and fell at the feet of Jesus to give Him thanks. Instead of appearing surprised that this guy returned, Jesus responded by expressing His disappointment for the other nine not returning.

How Do You Respond 

What a shame it would be if we talk to God on a close and intimate level every day while desperately praying for a victory, then would not return to give Him thanks once the victory was won. Acknowledging God for every accomplishment, is important, especially the big ones. When we give God thanks, we are not only strengthening our faith in God but most importantly strengthening our relationship with Him. Faith says God can. Relationship says God will. This is especially important when you're down in the valley, facing a giant. Once you have given God thanks for the victory, ask Him to bless those who have contributed to your success. This will help you remain humble. Take time to call out people by name. Then pray blessings over them and their families. Besides keeping you humble, God really will answer these prayers. People pray better when they have just had a victory.

Isaac’s Prayer

When Isaac was about to die, he called for his eldest son Esau. Isaac's instructions were to prepare his favorite meal so that his soul would bless him. Isaac knew that his prayers would be more powerful when he was feeling most content. If Isaac could pray so much better after a good meal, what can we do when we've just accomplished something that we've been working long and hard for? 

Dos and Don’ts of Prayer 

Do pray for victory over future struggles. Your words are powerful! The power of life and death is in the tongue. (Proverbs 18:21 ) Use your heighten positivity to make up as much ground on the enemy as possible. Pray blessings over people, places, and things. Proclaim victory for God’s people throughout the earth. If we are going to pray big, we might as well pray big. 

   Don’t make foolish vows. The worse possible time to make long-term commitments is when your emotions are heightened. (Positively or negatively). The only time you should ever make long-term commitments is when you have a balanced sound mind. Emotions are poor decision-makers. They are passengers along for the ride but should never be in the driver's seat. 

Conclusion 

Enjoy your victory. Give thanks and glory to God and everyone who contributed. Most of all make sure to build your relationship with your Heavenly Father by spending time with Him in the good times as well as the bad. Talk to him when you have already received everything you’ve been praying for. This will ensure a long and lasting relationship between you and The Lord that will lead to many victories for the Kingdom of Heaven.
